Syracuse is not simply the largest city nearby. It is where the institutions that decide things for the whole region physically sit, which is why a matter that begins in Oswego or Cortland or Madison County often ends up here anyway.

That last one matters more to an injury claim than people expect. Most of the county is not downtown. Twenty-six of Onondaga County’s courts sit outside the city — Camillus, Tully, Skaneateles, Clay, Manlius. A downtown address is no closer to any of them than Cicero is, and for the northern half of the county we are considerably closer.

You are not paying for a tower. Parking at our Cicero office is free, which is not a small thing when a matter needs three or four visits and the alternative is a downtown garage.

Do you have an office in downtown Syracuse?

No, and we would rather say so plainly. Our nearest office is in Cicero, about ten miles north, roughly fifteen minutes up Route 11 or I-81. Everything else about how a Syracuse matter is handled is the same, and parking with us is free.

Does it matter that my lawyer is not based in the city?

For the courts, no. Most of Onondaga County’s twenty-six justice courts are outside the city anyway, and a downtown address is no closer to Camillus or Tully than we are. What matters is who picks up the phone and who actually appears.

I was hurt in a crash and taken to Upstate. Is that relevant?

It often is. Upstate University Hospital is the only Level 1 trauma center in the region, so serious injuries from fourteen counties end up in Syracuse. Those records are usually the backbone of an injury claim, and they are worth requesting early.
